Create a collection
Collections hold related requests, for example everything for your billing API.
- In the left panel, click Create collection (the + button) and give it a name.
- Hover the collection, open its Actions menu and choose Add request.
Build the request
- Pick the method (GET, POST, PUT …) and type the URL, for example
https://api.example.com/bills. - Add query parameters under Params, or type them straight into the URL.
- Add headers under Headers.
- For POST and PUT, choose a body type under Body: JSON, form-data, urlencoded, binary or GraphQL.
Send and read the response
Press Send (or Ctrl + Enter). The response panel shows:
- the status code, time and size;
- Pretty JSON, Raw text and an HTML Preview;
- response Headers and Cookies;
- a Console with exactly what was sent.
Press Save (or Ctrl + S) to keep the request in the collection. For one-off calls, open a quick tab with +; it stays "not saved" until you choose to save it.
Requests are sent from our server, so public APIs work right away. Addresses like
localhostor192.168.x.xpoint to our server, not your computer; the desktop app reaches those.
History
Every send is kept in History for 30 days, so you can reopen an old call and its response.
